Essence of Desert

Created as part of the Level 2 collaborative collection 'Essence of Desert' for the Cornell Fashion Collective's 34th Annual Fashion Show.

I took inspiration from the colors of the textures of the plant life and the desert biome.

The top was created using polyester taffeta that I hand-smocked into lotus flowers.

The skirt was created from four layers of polyester chiffon.

The bloomers were created from polyester taffeta.

The top was created with hand-smocked and waved pin-tucked double faced polyester taffeta, as well as two layers of polyester chiffon.

The pants were made with the waved pintucks as the waistband and cuffs, as well as 2 layers of polyester chiffon for the main body.
