After working with Racker, a local organization and school for people with disabilities, I began my work on clothing for children with Autism Spectrum Disorders and Sensory Processing Disorders.

As a designer I explore the surface to elevate simple silhouettes through design lines and textile manipulation while maintaining very wearable, easy silhouettes. I take inspiration from travelling and the world around me; taking  specific elements from images to expand into finding multiple ways to show and express the texture and emotions captured. This remains through my adaptive design work. I ensure that the functionality is hidden by making the surface fun and unique to match children’s’ personalities. I aim to create garments children will instantly be attracted to in stores and want to wear at home. I combine this with silhouettes that parents will love because they are easy to get kids dressed in and they can be worn at many different types of occasions. I am motivated to design for all kids as I want to show that disabilities should not be seen as weaknesses but rather strengths and prove that perceiving the world differently does not mean seeing the world incorrectly.
